Once the weather starts warming up, many of my heavier fall and winter fragrances begin to feel a little too heavy. But at the same time, a lot of my true summer scents don’t quite feel right yet either, especially when it’s still cool in the mornings and evenings.
This is the time of year when I find myself reaching for fragrances that feel brighter and lighter, but still have enough depth to hold up on cooler spring days.
These are the scents I’ve been wearing most often lately.
Givenchy L’Interdit Rouge
This is one of the fragrances I reach for most when I want something bright, playful and uplifting.
On me, it has a playful bubblegum floral quality that feels bright, cheerful and easy to wear. Despite the sweetness, it still has enough depth that it doesn’t disappear when the weather is a little cooler.
Commodity Book
Commodity Book is one of those fragrances that somehow manages to feel both fresh and cozy at the same time.
The musky, woody base keeps it grounded while still feeling clean and effortless. It’s the type of scent I reach for when I want something understated but interesting.
Amouage Sunshine Woman
Sunshine Woman feels exactly like its name suggests.
It’s warm, sunny and uplifting, but unlike many bright fragrances, it still has enough substance and complexity to feel like a true perfume rather than a simple summer scent. One of the things I love most about it is the tobacco note, which adds depth and keeps it from feeling overly sweet or fleeting. It’s one of my favorite choices for those in-between spring days.
Juliette Has a Gun Sunny Side Up
Sunny Side Up is bright, creamy and slightly woody.
I especially like it this time of year because the woody notes help it hold up on cooler days while still feeling light enough for warmer weather. It has just the right balance of brightness and depth for Spring.
A Lab on Fire What We Do In Paris Is Secret
This one is soft, powdery and sweet in the best way.
It has a comforting quality that still feels appropriate for spring and somehow manages to be both cozy and airy at the same time.
Final Thoughts
I tend to think of these as my “in-between season” fragrances. They’re lighter and brighter than the scents I gravitate toward in winter, but they still have enough depth to work before the true heat of summer arrives.
Once temperatures start climbing consistently, I’ll probably reach for fresher citruses, tropical florals and lighter musks more often. For now, these are the fragrances that have been getting the most wear.
