I’ve been rotating between a few different concealers lately depending on what my skin is doing that day. Some work better for spot concealing, while others are better for dry or textured under eyes.
Lately I’ve also been dealing with some ongoing perioral and ocular dermatitis, so I’ve been gravitating toward lighter, more hydrating formulas that still make my skin look fresh without emphasizing irritation or texture.
NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer in Custard
This is one of my favorite concealers for covering breakouts, redness or small imperfections. It has high coverage, but it blends in seamlessly so it doesn’t look too heavy or obvious on the skin.
I mostly use this as a targeted concealer rather than under the eyes.
Glossier Stretch Concealer in Medium 1
This has been my most-used concealer over the last few weeks. The formula is hydrating and flexible, so it works really well on days when my skin feels dry, reactive or sensitized.
I’ve actually been using it more like a light complexion product lately, too. It blends into the skin so naturally that I can tap a little onto my cheeks and even things out without looking like I’m really wearing makeup. It’s been perfect for easy weekend makeup days.
Sarah Creal Face Flex Concealer in 1.5
I really like this one for multi-use. It works beautifully under dry or crepey under eyes because it has a smoothing, hydrating finish that doesn’t settle heavily into lines, but it also has enough coverage to double as a spot concealer for blemishes or imperfections while still looking natural on the skin.
Maxine’s Revenge French Face Concealer in Light Beige
This one is probably my current overall favorite for under eyes. It makes the under-eye area look smooth, fresh and hydrated without feeling heavy, and the finish somehow manages to look both natural and polished at the same time. If I wasn’t currently dealing with some ocular dermatitis and extra eye sensitivity, this would easily be the concealer I’d be reaching for the most right now.
Final Thoughts
Overall, these are the concealers I’ve been reaching for the most lately depending on what my skin needs that day. Since my skin has been more sensitive lately from some perioral and ocular dermatitis, I’ve been especially drawn to hydrating, flexible formulas that still look natural and flattering without feeling heavy on the skin.
