I’m having a moment with blonzer type blush shades this summer. I love those warm, bronzy rose colors that give skin a little flush while adding warmth at the same time.
They’re not quite blush and not quite bronzer, which is what I like about them. Some lean more rosy, some more peachy and others more brown, but they all give me that warm, slightly sun-kissed look I’ve been gravitating toward lately.
Here are a few I’ve been loving –
Saie Dew Blush in Cutie
Cutie is one of the rosier shades in this group, but it pulls much more peachy on me. The warmth makes it pair really well with bronzer, and I love the dewy finish of the formula. This is one I reach for when I’m going for a healthy flush of color that looks like the first hint of getting a summer tan.
Kosas Impressionist Multistick in Nuance
Nuance is a deeper, more muted take on the blonzer look. On me, it pulls almost burgundy with a bit of brown and mauve. I also like the Multistick formula because it’s so easy to blend out.
Merit Flush Balm in Bespoke
Bespoke is a muted mauve-brown that pulls more purple on me than the other shades in this group. The formula is pretty sheer, so I like this on lighter makeup days. I also like tapping this on top of another blush when I’m going for a glossy look.
Haus Labs Glassy Blush in Glassy Cayenne
Glassy Cayenne is a warm rosy brown on me and gives my cheeks a really pretty flush of color. I love this one with bronzy summer makeup that I lean into later in the summer once I have more of a tan.
Nudestix Nudies Cream Blush in Sunkissed
Sunkissed is one of the first shades I think of when I think of a blonzer. On me, it pulls more rusty brick-brown than rosy, and I love how it adds both color and warmth at the same time.
I’ve also been using this as the base for one of my favorite monochromatic looks lately.
Saie SuperSuede Powder Blush in Ciao
Ciao is a bright terracotta rust that I bought and then barely touched for a long time. It’s not a shade I love on myself when I don’t have a tan, but I recently pulled it back out and have been loving it.
I especially like it layered over Sunkissed. The two shades look beautiful together and give me that bronzy end of summer look I’ve been loving. I’ve also been using this one on my eyes for a warm monochromatic look.
Why I Keep Reaching for These Shades
I still love my pink and brighter blushes, but these are the colors I keep coming back to as we near the end of summer. They’re easy, they work with so many of the other warm shades I’m wearing, and I like the effortless warmth they bring to my face.
And clearly I don’t need six blushes that fall into a similar color family. I just love testing new products and comparing different formulas and shades.
